Keith Haring: A World in Motion

The evening begins with a major exhibition dedicated to Keith Haring, examining how the artist transformed downtown New York culture into a globally recognized visual language rooted in accessibility, movement, and collective experience.
Curated by Carlo McCormick, the exhibition traces Haring's work across New York, Tokyo, Paris, Milan, and San Francisco while highlighting the intersections of art, nightlife, activism, music, and public space.

Topics may include:
  • Art as public communication
  • Creative networks and cultural influence
  • New York in the 1980s

Fred Tomaselli: Blooms Disrupted

At James Cohan, the group will explore new works by Fred Tomaselli, whose layered paintings and collages merge botanical imagery, photography, resin, and media sources into immersive visual environments.

The exhibition contrasts lush garden imagery with manipulated New York Times front pages, exploring attention, overload, ecological anxiety, and the pressures of contemporary media culture.|

Topics may include:
  • Information overload and media systems
  • Nature as refuge and resistance
  • Collage and fragmentation
  • Beauty, anxiety, and contemporary consciousness

Matt Phillips: Recent Paintings

The evening concludes at DIMIN with Brooklyn-based artist Matt Phillips and a new body of abstract paintings that explore the relationship between structure, improvisation, perception, and uncertainty.

Working with a limited visual vocabulary of grids, geometric forms, looping lines, texture, and color, Phillips creates compositions that balance order and spontaneity. His paintings evolve through a process of revision and discovery, drawing comparisons to musical improvisation, where tension between certainty and doubt becomes a central creative force.

Guests will be joined by gallery founder Rob Dimin, a fellow University of Pennsylvania alumnus, who will share insights into the exhibition, the artist's practice, and the contemporary art market.

Topics may include:
  • Creativity as a process of experimentation and discovery
  • The relationship between structure and improvisation
  • Light, perception, and material innovation
  • Building a contemporary gallery program
  • Collecting and supporting emerging artists
